Hello again!

I apologize.. so sorry I haven't posted in a LONG time... school has started back.. and well.. this might be the last post for a while.. who knows.

Anyways, I have gotten a question about choreography. Ahh, well, if you don't know what it is, choreography is the movements on the stage.

Memorizing choreography? Tricky... but can be mastered. When your director is giving you the choreography, study what you are doing, and then when you are finished rehearsing, write it down next to that certain line ( if you have to faint during your line or something like that) and then practice at home.

Use anything that is unbreakable, like a rubber ducky, etc., for your rehearsing blocks (or the place where you have to move to every time.)

Managing Time

Hey guys!

Again.. so sorry for the late post. I have been on vacation.. and well... I guess I forgot. Oh well.
Anyways, I have gotten a question about time management.
Here's my answer:

When you try out for a play, make sure you are looking at roles that fit in your time schedule. What I mean is, don't look for roles that may be the best but require lots of memorizing. Go for a role that fits your schedule. Remember: all roles are important. Once you get your role, start making a schedule. Depending on how good of a memorizer you are, take about 1-2 hours a day practicing and practicing your lines. Repetition is always a good factor of memorization. Take this as an example:

Billy's Day:

8:30am- 3:30 pm: School
3:40pm-4:15 pm: Piano Lesson
4:30-5:30 pm: Homework
5:30-5:40 pm: Dinner
5:40-6:40 pm: Study for any upcoming tests
6:40-7:40 pm: Memorizing lines
7:40-7:50 pm: Shower
7:50- 8:10 pm: Get ready for bed.
8:10- 9:00 pm: Extra needed time (let's say you need more time studying for something, or memorizing, etc.)

Acting Tip

Hey guys!

So sorry this is only one tip. I have been SO busy. :(

Anyways, here's an acting tip.

When you have gotten your character, try to be that person/thing for a day. This way, you will figure out who your character really is. When you are being that character, make sure you know the traits. Here is a little questionnaire to help:

Questionnaire:

1. Evil or good?

2. Little or old?

3. Dirty or clean?

I'm so sorry I only have three questions.. but I don't know your character. Look through your lines, and see how the character reacts, is, and thinks. It's really easy! :D I did all by myself! :D

Hey guys!

I know.. i just created this blog.. but already i have already gotten a question. Auditions.
Yes. Auditions can make the actor feel a little nervous, but it's really easy to do.

Audition Tips:

Never say "sorry" when you do something unplanned. This will make your audition more unique.
Don't get nervous when everyone is looking at you. You all are friends and won't make fun of you.
Before you audition, look over the character's lines (well the character you would like to be) and add on any accents or moves when your character speaks. (Ex: If he/she slouches while speaking, etc.)
Be that person. Jump into the character's skin.
